Perfect replacement
Took a little reading. To get the right dosage

No tummy upset
Need more calcium and prefer to take vitamins separately. Tablet are big but I can swallow them. They so crush easily if you prefer (I used a coffee bean grinder). Calcium citrate is easier on my stomach than carbonate.

Best calcium for certain people
This is a fairly large tablet but contains only 333 mg of calcium. However as the citrate form it is much better absorbed than the more common carbonate form. This form of calcium is particularly needed by people who have reduced stomach acid from disease or from medication.

They are big as horse pills, and you have to take three of them to get the dosage

Likely improved my bone density
I've been taking 2 per day for almost a year, and my latest bone density scan shows a slight improvement over the last time. I will be increasing to the full 3 per day recommendation. Be aware that ALL calcium citrate pills are large -- that is not something unique to this brand. It is much more absorbable than calcium carbonate, so having a large pill is the sacrifice you have to make for not having kidney stones due to poor absorption. Personally, I'd much rather have to swallow a large pill than have a kidney stone from taking calcium carbonate. It's really not that hard to swallow.
