Great comfortable boots. Don’t give up on them before you get them broken in!!!
These boots are great. I read all reviews before buying. They are made of high quality leather and are stiff when new. However, I view this as a positive thing. It took me almost 2 weeks to get them broken in. That’s the sign of a tough durable work boot, if they break in within a day they generally don’t last. These boots aren’t for the white collar worker that buys them for the steel toe so he or she can see the inside of their plant. They say it in the style. They’re logger boots. So they gotta be tough. I found during break in that lacing them a bit loose for the first few days then gradually tightening them daily works great for the break in period. I also read reviews recommending to go up a 1/2 size. I’ve been wearing Ariat boots size 12 for years, so I chose to order a size 12 in these. They fit perfectly. So if you wear Ariat then stick with the same size. The only complaint I have is the Chippewa tag in the tongue is very stiff and sharp around the edge. It lasted about 30 minutes and I had the boots pulled off, pocket knife out and cut the stitching and removed the tag in both boots. Once that was done they’re great. I will definitely be buying again once these wear out. And they look really good so I’ll probably buy another pair to keep nice.

Great boots even though they aren't the American-made ones!
These were my first pair of leather work boots I have ever owned. I have had these for about a year now, and I always get compliments on these boots. I don't work construction or anything, but I can say these are comfortable and I wear them almost every day. I used to always wear sneakers and I decided to get some boots to protect my ankles from rolling if I stepped wrong as I jumped out of my car during my delivery job, and to protect my self from small dogs that seem to go for ankles. Also the steel toe is a bonus, but of course it sometimes give my toes a bit of a discomfort. I have taken these to concerts and I can bounce around and of course people with lesser quality shoes will get mad at me for stepping on their toes, but I don't have to experience that feeling, or ever lose my shoes from having to push back and forth to stay in front row. I can remember when I first tried these on, they were really comfortable, but I made sure to buy my own insoles just in case, and I have never had problems from standing or walking in them for too long. If you buy this specific model, get good insoles! Also, they are actually pretty water resistant! There have been days where it's raining hard and I'd step in some deep puddles-- not completely submerging the boots, but getting up to the laces-- and my feet stayed dry. I guess the oil job and the seal on these boots was done well. I have also been on a small hiking trail (just a mile or two) and I have been to the beach quite a few times and gotten sand all over the laces and there is no sand or rocks in my boots and the leather still looks great! Of all the random places I have been wearing these boots, there is only a scratch on the leather on one foot-- probably from kicking something. These make great everyday boots if you dont mind the weight of the shoe and the steel toe. I am considering buying a soft toe version for hiking, and maybe buying another steel toe, but this time the American made version.

Sturdy and comfortable
This is a comfortable boot with great arch support and a decent amount of insulation. Best for mild and colder weather. The color is brighter than it appears as pictured but it still is a great looking boot and there are a few other small aesthetic differences such as logos being in different places and not being exactly as the ones pictured etc. definitely not a deal breaker but noteworthy for me. The leather is of high quality but scuffs easily. Not an issue tho, a quick brushing cleans it up well. Iv had these boots for only a few weeks and have worn them on several occasions for many hours on end with complete comfort. It seems there is no break in period or it is a very minimal one. I ordered only a half size down from my normal gym shoe size and the fit was spot on, with room for a pair of moderately thick socks. Overall it's comfortable and very sturdy, should last quite a while if taken care of, I recommend it.

On my 3rd pair. Best boots I’ve ever owned
As an extremely picky boot connoisseur I have to say hands down Chippewas are my favorite. I wear timberlands or redwings to beat up at work, but these are my favorite. They’re much better looking than the competition and they last forever. I have an oddly wide foot that often requires me to buy half a size to a full size up with steel toes. Not with Chippewas. These have a nice roomy toe box that fits my wide feet. The soles wear great. The leather is tough and withstands lots of abuse. These are the good looking do everything shit kickers you want. I always get compliments on these. I walk and hike a lot. I wear boots every day and most other brands of boots last me about 6 months of daily wear. My last pair of Chippewas lasted me 3 1/2 years of daily wear. I’m a lifer for Chippewa boots. They’re worth double what they cost.
