Is this mala durable?Will the beads get damaged with time? Are the beads made of pure turmeric?

I can't answer about the durability part, because I only bought it a short while ago. The material seems to be authentic turmeric because it smells and feels just like turmeric. Please keep it away from white clothes, as they can get stained!

Does the mala require any preservation? Should it remain ok, if kept in open air?

yes this orignal haldi mala needs to be pack in air tight box because due to moisture it would be slightly damaged.
