Product Description ------------------- The Astell&Kern AK70 has been reborn as the AK70 MK II. The first Astell&Kern model below $1000 to be equipped with a dual DAC, the separated channel circuit design offers less noise and interference whilst adding fidelity and audio output power. The Astell&Kern AK70 MK II plays digital files in any resolution up to 24-bit/192kHz, bit-for-bit. By converting to PCM or down sampling, 32-bit audio and single/double rate DSD can also be played. Original sound is delivered with power and without noise interference using the 2.5m 4-pole balanced output, pioneered by Astell&Kern. With a sound quality guaranteed to please even the most discerning music aficionado, the AK70 MK II maintains the natural tone and sound signature that Astell&Kern is famous for. The newly designed audio circuit creates an authentic sound by exceeding previous Hi-Fi Audio specifications. The latest Astell&Kern audio design technology and substantial power output of 4.0Vrms means the AK70 MK II can drive heavy, hard-to-drive headphones with ease. Super Hi-Fi audio quality in pocket-size, the AK70 MK II means listeners don’t have to compromise power for portability. The ergonomic design is perfect for listeners who want high quality sound at any time or place and allows for a one-handed operation. With a USB connection, the AK70 MK II can be used as a digital music storage device and/or pre-amp. DSD in native format is transferred through DoP (DSD over PCM) and converts DSD to PCM for output for external USB Audio that do not support DoP. The USB connection also allows the AK70 MK II to connect to a PC/Mac to provide better sound quality. Used as a USB DAC, the AK70 MK II’s hardware brings out more detail and gives a better listening experience than your computer is capable of. Playback up to 24-bit, 96kHz is supported to deliver a much richer sound, through a larger soundstage and resolution, far beyond the embedded sound card’s limits. The AK70 MK II also allows for DSD data to be played on a computer. Connecting to the Astell&Kern CD-ripper allows CDs to be ripped directly to the AK70 MK II with complete error-correction.
